Innovative greening takes root in Toulouse

Specialising in roof greening, Demet’Air has chosen Toulouse as the location for its head office and R&D centre in 2023. With close support from Toulouse Team – Invest, the Normandy-based company is rolling out its solutions to promote biodiversity and climate resilience in cities.

An agile company working to protect the climate

Founded by Brice Sendra, Demet’Air offers an innovative approach to greening. Its lightweight, sustainable substrate allows green roofs to be installed on almost any building. These solutions promote biodiversity and address major climate issues: combating heat islands, managing rainwater and storing CO₂.

From 2022, the company has expressed its desire to bring its R&D centre closer to its customers and to develop its visibility. Toulouse has established itself as an ideal location.

Since 2022, Toulouse Team Invest has been working hard to support Demet’Air by:

Organising more than twenty meetings with local stakeholders (construction, energy, local authorities).
Promoting the project to public stakeholders, particularly Toulouse Métropole.
Support for flagship pilot projects, such as the Neygreneys nursery school, which faces heat island issues.

The company has demonstrated great agility, even proposing a suitable vertical solution that goes beyond its initial expertise.

A growing presence

Since January 2023, Demet’Air has raised its profile by participating in major events such as the World Impact Summit, ChangeNOW and the Web Summit, where it has regularly received awards. It is also a member of the Solar Impulse Foundation and plans to create 10 to 15 jobs over two years.
