Toulouse, new space base for a disruptive French deep tech company

Greenerwave is developing disruptive technology based on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). After raising €15 million in 2024, the company chose Toulouse in 2025 to set up its space team, at the heart of an international ecosystem of excellence.

Technology serving multiple industries

Greenerwave shifts the material complexity of communication systems to software, enabling more efficient and energy-efficient control of electromagnetic waves.

This innovation applies to many sectors: telecommunications, defense, automotive, and especially space, where demand for flexible, high-performance solutions is growing rapidly.

Why Toulouse?

Greenerwave, already established in Paris, was looking for a strategic location to develop its space division. Toulouse stood out thanks to:

Its position as the European capital of space and aeronautics, bringing together manufacturers, start-ups and leading laboratories.
The possibility of accessing technological partnerships with players such as OneWeb, the TéSA laboratory and Aerospace Valley.
A pool of talent from major groups (Airbus Defence & Space, Thales Alenia Space, OneWeb) and specialised schools.

Spotted by the SpaceFounders programme in 2022, Greenerwave benefited from tailor-made support:

Organisation of a technical visit to Toulouse to meet key players in the region.
Introduction to strategic industrial and academic partners.
Search for suitable premises, which resulted in a location near the Cité de l’espace.

A forward-looking facility

The Toulouse unit, managed by a local team, already brings together several experts and has ambitious goals:

Develop disruptive solutions for space telecommunications (localisation, anti-jamming, signal characterisation).
Integrate and test the antenna technology designed in Paris, using an anechoic chamber and state-of-the-art RF infrastructure installed in Toulouse.
Offer a universal solution adapted to different orbits (LEO, MEO, GEO).
Deploy SatCom terminals for various sectors: defence, aeronautics, public institutions.

By 2027, the team in Toulouse is expected to grow to around 15 people. Greenerwave is already working with major clients, confirming the relevance of its local presence.
