Center of excellence

Agritech

In Toulouse, a strong university network, including the engineering schools of Purpan, ENSAT, ENVT, ENSIACET and ENSFEA, contributes to the excellence of the agricultural sector. At the same time, major international events such as FIRA highlight innovation in the field of sustainable agriculture.

Digital

Toulouse, a hub for digital agriculture, combines technology monitoring, innovative software, sensors, satellites, drones and decision support tools for precision farming. With its living labs (Occitanum), public-private partnerships with players such as CNES, LAAS, ICAM and ANITI, and its European projects (Smart Green Water, OccitanIA), the region is driving open innovation and supporting players towards more efficient and sustainable agriculture.

Agricultural robotics

The region is making its mark in agricultural robotics with leaders such as Naïo Technologies and Agreenculture. RobAgri, a national network based in Toulouse, brings together 85 players and is piloting the France 2030 Agricultural Robotics Grand Challenge (€21 million). Autonomous robots and tools optimise practices, reduce inputs and carbon footprints, and promote sustainable agriculture. The FIRA (International Forum on Agricultural Robotics), held annually in Toulouse, showcases this unique ecosystem.

Biosolutions

Toulouse Métropole has expertise covering the entire agricultural biosolutions value chain: cutting-edge research (INRAE laboratories, CNRS, schools), training, a network of innovative companies and support mechanisms (clusters, public funding, user networks). Concrete advances – bio-inspired molecules, organic fertilisers, redesigned cultivation methods – are helping to meet the challenges of reducing pesticide use and transitioning to agroecology.
