A Danish flood protection solution rolls out in Toulouse

Designed in Denmark with the support of research institutes and the Ministry of the Environment, FloodFrame offers an innovative, passive flood protection system. In 2021, the company chose Toulouse as the location for its European operational headquarters and its first demonstration centre.

Simple and effective technology

FloodFrame has developed a waterproof membrane that is wrapped around a float and buried near buildings. When water levels rise, hydraulic pressure automatically deploys the barrier, protecting the structure autonomously and invisibly under normal conditions.

This low-tech, comprehensive and spontaneous solution is particularly suited to isolated or exposed sites.

Since 2021, FloodFrame has enjoyed a string of successes: the inauguration in 2024 of a unique demonstration centre (a 140 m² pool 3 m deep), organised in partnership with Allianz; national recognition with the 2021 SETT d’Or Innovation Award; media coverage on BFM TV, Les Échos, La Tribune and Le Journal des Entreprises.

This establishment also illustrates the growing ties between Toulouse and Denmark, reinforced by the recent opening of the Toulouse-Copenhagen route.
